Its been a most wonderful summer. The bounty of the earth in full swing. It seems we are in the midst of harvesting, canning and freezing all the goodness that surrounds us. Rose petals infused and dried for further candies and lotions. Apricots, raspberries, Oregon grape, Elderberry, Cherries, pears, apples and more. Lovely visits from family, The Mountain Festival, the youngsters coming of age riding the tractor, ride mower and honing driving skills down dirt country roads just like we did out in the desert all those years ago. I am so happy to be in a place where kids can still grow in such freedoms! The Mountain Blue birds returned, along with many other summer favorites. I saw my first California Condor, what I sight, almost extinct, the 1,000 chick just born. How bankrupt my soul would be had I never laid eyes on that gigantic soaring wonder. Deer and Elk roam the neighborhood. They sleep in surrounding fields. Such Majesty they bring. Most creatures here...

Goldie

  Sometimes, life graces you with a good buddy for many years. This was the case with Goldie, 17 years of steadfast comradery.  She was found as a 3 month old pup, roaming a parking lot. I was observing her from a far. Those she approached for help shunned her. I rolled the old El Co up near her, opened the door, squatted on the ground and said, "most don't listen well do they kid?" She sheepishly approached me, ears back, tail wagging with an embarrassed look in those gorgeous, black lined, eyes.  She hopped in the car. We did a courtesy round through the parking lot asking if she belonged to anyone - we were ignored.  I drove home with my new buddy and she easily joined the existing pack of Murphy, Winston, ChiDoxie and Peppy. She fit like a glove in the household and was nothing but perfect. Her cross of shepherd and Golden was just the sweetest, loving and caring mix. As she grew into her perfect self, she was the perfect momma to all the pack. The surviving part...

Snow on Cherry Plum

Snow on Cherry Plum A new flower essence was born, one that seems so relevant given the times. I was awestruck by the sight, a spring flurry of whimsical, fluffy snow draped the flowering cherry plum in a robe of white. A glimmer of pink shown through the opalescent covering. The pics really don't do justice. A sterile jar of clear water was placed in its crook the no touch method was used. It sat in its crook for night and day. till the snow melted away. I thought the next day, why? Edward Bach already had the flower essence Cherry Plum, known to ease the feeling of ones mind giving way. Then I recalled my impromptu proving of snow last year and it all became crystal clear. Cherry has a long history of easing the effects of "high living" in material form.
