Duane the Dane

Image
It was Aug. 30, 2020, about 12:30 midnight. I was awakened from a deep sleep by the hurried and panicked footfall racing through the fallen leaves in the backyard.   The cats looked like Persian cats, their fur so fluffed out, eyes wide in terror, mind you they are short haired cats. I thought to myself it couldn't be a wild creature, I have never heard such fear in wild feet since we have been here.   I suited up and went to check it out. When I got to the den I heard whimpering. I thought to myself one of the little pooches needed to go potty. I turned on the light, only to see the aged pack dead asleep on their favorite cushions.   A heavy headed Goldie raised her eyes at me like, "what's going on"?   The whimpering continued. Then I spotted an oh so large beast peering in the den windows off the back porch. Oh great, what do we have here.  I opened the porch light to see the largest dog, a black and white Dane. Toenai...

First Snow 2020

Image
The first year we were here, mid August the first leaf fell from the beloved Maple. The 1st snow came Dec. 6   The second year we were here, the Maple dropped the first leaf Aug. 1. The first snow came last Thanksgiving.   This year the Maple dropped her first red leaf mid July.  I looked up at her and said, "your kidding". This years first snow came Nov. 7.   We had 2 months of horrid fires this summer. Our normally pristine air permeated with the smell of fire.  Most were miles away, those local quickly extinguished by Tehachapis' finest. Mountains surrounding our valley obscured by thick smoke, you couldn't see them. Despite all we humans do, trees, those lovely entities that connect heaven and earth, deep roots beneath that reach into ground water,  boughs stretching heaven bound, taking sun and wind, cradling babes of all sorts of critters in their sturdy arms, offering all sorts of healing balms and essences, giving clues to passe...

The Pause, The Bug and Healing.

Observations during lock down: Freedom is fickle and dependent on the whole. Early on the Biotech Company Abbvie had a commercial, telling us that “the best way to predict the future is to create it”. That’s pretty “in your face”. The commercial didn’t air for long, yet for me, it was chilling and telling. It has long been known computers generate algorithms to predict buying tendencies. This pandemic has had huge payoffs for some, catastrophic for others. As a friend of mine once said, humanity has become a commodity. The public pulled by the nose ring, dependent on corporate greed and desire to control the masses and spending habits. Follow the money, you get your answer. Disease, wars, opioids, starvation, etc., have killed so many, yet never has there been such measures taken to pause. What makes this circumstance so different? For years one has observed people taking one bite of a meal, and then throwing the rest out. An animal gave its life for many such meals, a spoiled an...

Mountain Top

Image
You wind up the twisting road. The weekend tourist are all gone, you drive slow. Take your time, take in the sights, you got the mountain to yourself.   The terrain is steep, you marvel at the boulders, pines and oaks that keep ancient time; unmoved by the  altitude or elements, season after season. The secrets they can tell, I listen to their somber voice. The bear, cougar, deer and others move with ease through the steep inclines, undaunted, it only strengthens their resolve. I need their tutelage. You reach your destination, remove your shoes to show respect to the mountain. The chipmunk and assorted birds announce to others your arrival. Natures bow wave, She always knows. You really don't walk alone here. A grand smile dresses my face and soul. You begin your climb, body angled forward, muscles, breath and enchantment engaged. The cold mountain air drives deep into the lowest part of the lungs, burning a bit, as the body bids more oxygen in the...

New Vision

Image
Today, I  awoke as always, to the dim, grey light of early dawn, giving way to its bluish hues, then emerging to the coral splash of light, creeping over the mountain tops, spilling onto the valley below as the sun makes a new day.   A small emerald jewel of a hummingbird bathes and splashes in the cool morning dew formed on a blood-red blooming rose. This little God will know more about "flower essences" than I ever will, still, I absorb and amalgamate the moment.  I am blessed to"see" again, after a far too long period of being "legally blind". A most terrifying time, so many souls calling for restoration and eyes that couldn't rep anymore. With COVID delays I made peace with going blind, what else could one do? To fight was just a waste of precious energy, we morph, we adapt - that is Nature. The surgery complete, all the remedies, fasting, juicing all convened to restore my eagle eye, 20/20 vision of youth in this year for reformation 2020. Best...

Free

Image
Free, to let your feet roam. Free, to see what the day brings. Free, from constraint of "civilized". What ever that means, Free, to smell an orchestra of herbal scents and healing. Free, to soak in the warm, healing sun.  Free, to hear oh so many melodies of birdsong.  Free, to take n multitudes of blooms, hatchlings, births  and revel in Springs renewal. Free, from human chaos. Free, in Nature's order.

Snow on Cherry Plum

Image
Snow on Cherry Plum A new flower essence was born, one that seems so relevant given the times. I was awestruck by the sight, a spring flurry of whimsical, fluffy snow draped the flowering cherry plum in a robe of white. A glimmer of pink shown through the opalescent covering. The pics really don't do justice. A sterile jar of clear water was placed in its crook the no touch method was used. It sat in its crook for night and day. till the snow melted away. I thought the next day, why? Edward Bach already had the flower essence Cherry Plum, known to ease the feeling of ones mind giving way. Then I recalled my impromptu proving of snow last year and it all became crystal clear. Cherry has a long history of easing the effects of "high living" in material form. The gentleness of essences impart a most delicate nuance of easing the stress many now feel with the world changes at such manic paces. Snow and its demand for stillness, as...

Its Not the Bug

Image
Quite the state we humans find ourselves in. You could smell the blood in the water for years, but human addicted denial reins supreme. It is never the bug, but a distorted vital force that allows disease. Welcome the pause. So many scared theories echoed through human pin-hole perception. So much contradictory ego babble coming from leaders and experts lips. The media so good at spooking the herd, watch em stampede. Quite the social experiment we are living. Last  years double earthquake should have had Californians better prepared. Then the Edison blackouts, the constant stress does not help when virulent strains are created - how ever they come about. Isolating social beings compounds the strain.. Science is splicing genes at an alarming rate, with very little regard to consequence. Many vaccines are genetically modified, when these modified bugs shed, they wreak havoc on those with natural immunity, the new bug is morphed and has its own agenda. When will we learn? Genet...

Repose

Image
It took Medicine Hat aka Pinky a long time to feel safe enough to lay down all allow communion. Yet here in this place of grace, it finally happened. I don't believe in "training" a horse to lay down. That is a trick most surely to be misused in the horse world. What I learned long ago, is to open a space so sacred and safe, beings feel at peace to release on such a deep level. The difference speaks for itself. Shavasana, corps pose, let gravity do the work to bring the body back to balance after deep rest. Do we really know what that entails? Do we really know how to allow that innate wisdom of the planet and universe to flow through us? Once we open to that infinite and timeless wisdom like the land, plants and animals do, we return to function with the planet and not against Her. How many beings understand the power in that? How many really want that? What I call Equine Guided Healing has evolved since my early days. Pinky and...

Mountain

Image
It took me a long time to feel sound enough to come up here. For over a year, I observed Her. Shrouded in clouds, veils of fog, clear and strong, the Lady makes her own weather. The higher perspective the mountains provide. Like the old song says, "I've been all over, and it been all over me". LA took a lot out of me, it took till now to feel the lovely mountains' invitation and my acquiesce. Miles long walks in the hilly valley where we live. Wonderful homeopathic remedies  that allowed me to feel the dross of ages leave my body like ethereal shrapnel pulled from my energy field and body, I have never left such relaxation in my old body, its good to be me again.   I had the mountain to myself. Liberated from the encumbrance of obligation and expectation of others.  The snow still heavy, the way too icy for abandon. The original peoples here named the mountain well, Tehachepi is said to mean a hard climb, but what wonder to smell the ...
